| Every Monday morning while teaching a painting class, I saw through the classroom's windows these little 2 and 3 year old ballerinas walking and holding hands with their mommies back to their cars after their class - all dressed in their tutus. I simply could not resist painting them! |

| The restored Johnston House is located in Half Moon Bay, on Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) and is a historic landmark, open to the public at various times every month. This scene was painted during the early spring, when the oxalis and wild mustard bloom. |
| Nestled in a spectacular canyon in Half Moon Bay, I came across this pastoral scene with the barn, cows, hills and the wonderful wildflowers of California. |

| I love the play of distorted objects when painting hyper-realized cut crystal. In this painting, the olives and the Coheba cigar made for interesting plays with light and distortion. I also love to surprise in my still lifes, and put the lipstick on the one glass. |

| Martin's Beach is Half Moon Bay's best kept secret. Great beach, incredible view. There is an arch in back of "Shark Fin Rock" that you cannot see unless you hike up the beach to a little cove. |

| These apples really were this shiny! MacIntosh Apples always have been my favorite, and as the still life painting 'surprise', the blade of the knife reflects part of an apple while giving off a reflection to two apples. I used many transparent glazes to get this realistic effect. |
